The project ROS-generating agents based on multiFUNctional nanostructured materials for environmental and therapeutic applications (ROS-FUN- PID2022-136417NB-I00) is designed to study and understand how the generation of reactive oxygen species (ROS) could be a tool for both catalytic and therapeutic uses, contributing to a multifunctional and integrative approach within the field of nanomaterials. Its objective is the preparation of new adsorbent and photoactive nanomaterials with the potential to generate ROS for application in the degradation of emerging pollutants (to help achieve the goal of environmental protection and remediation) as well as in ROS-induced therapy in pathological locations such as cancer and/or bacterial infections.
